MM Festival Fun

Nottingham is full of strangers with the Fair and so one more won't cause any excitement.

The fights haven't started yet but they will soon and there's something to see every where.

Damn, that stings.

Shay reaches forward to put a hand on the man's shoulder, gripping it tightly.

"What's your name?"

"Matt an who the 'ell are ye?"

"Shay."

[will_scarlett]

"Oh aye, we'll see 'ow much o'a man ye are, Shay."

Then the announcer stands up and calls two men up to fight including Matt.

"Don't get too badly beaten up," Shay says, letting go of Matt.

Matt sneers at Shay and fights well in his first bout knocking out in his opponent within a few moments.

Shay gulps a little. After that performance, Matt is ... intimidating, to say the least.

Well he does know how to use his muscles and smirks as he comes down to wait for his next challenger.

Next Shay is called up and he's against a lither fighter who grins at him,

"Let's see what ye can do."

Shay takes off his jerkin and shirt (and his bracer, which he tosses down carelessly to where it's concealed by his clothes) and heads up onto the platform.

The other man pulls off his shirt and eyes the bracer,

"What's that?"

"Jewellry," Shay replies simply. "Cultural thing."

"Oh aye."

Then the other man moves in with a couple of quick punches to Shay's face and torso.

Shay dodges most of them, takes a few, and circles, jabbing at the man's face.

The other man's pretty quick and keeps working at any openings that he sees in how Shay's moving.

Shay dodges what he can, takes others - after a while, it starts to get more difficult, as several blows strike the same places.

So he goes the other way - he reaches round to grab the man, pull him close and still, and knee up.

The man wasn't expecting that and can't move in time so he doubles over at the kick.

Shay doesn't let go. He knees up again, then pushes the man so that he's standing straighter and headbutts him.

At the headbutt the man just curses and falls and the man announcing comes to take Shay's hand,

"Ye've won. Clear 'im 'way an ye'll 'ave yer next 'bout soon."

"Thanks," Shay grins, helping to clear the man away and then heading down. There's a bruise rapidly forming on his side, but apart from that, he's okay.

A couple more round of bouts go by before Shay's called up again to fight a man who's not quite as tall as he is but solidly built,

"Won't be pullin' any tricks on me, boy."

"An' what's your name?"

"Sam."

Then he starts with a couple of powerful punches towards Shay's face.

Shay blocks, but the force of the blows leaves him unsteady on his feet.

So Sam just keeps coming, the blows don't involve a lot of finesse just strength.

Shay doesn't regain his composure in time to block, and a string of several blows leaves him sprawled flat on the ground, moving to get up, but wincing.
