Recovering Part 4

They find a door somewhere near 71st street and Will steps through to the Bar. He takes the bag of clothes and gives her a long kiss before leaving her to her teammates.

Inside, he gets a sandwich and drink from Bar to take upstairs as he looks in the bag and laughs at the Hawaiian shirt.

Upstairs, he puts on the speedo which makes him feel rather naked but it made Kate speechless which is worth a lot. Contented for the moment, he settles down on the bed to eat and soon naps after he eats.

When Kate returns he's stretched out on the bed in just the speedo, a trail of red hair leading down to it and a drink and sandwich on the bedside table.

"Missed being able to." She snuggled against him.

"Ye're alive, should keep celebratin' that e'ery day."

She just nodded at that, and reached out to idly run her fingers through his hair.

He moves into her hand, he loves the feel of her hand in his hair,

"'ow was yer meetin'?"

"Long, a lot of explanations. Some yelling. Mostly Eli, though he later defended me. Still felt like doing a little practice afterwards. A light one."

"Shame 'bout the yellin', ye've been through so much. But aye practice always 'elps."

"Well that and then Eli said, 'You were acting like you were possessed.' And I said, 'I was.' And he just went, 'Oh, well... don't let it happen again.'"

She sighed, and then added, "Billy was pretty quiet about it, but for...well, for good reason."

His hand moves through her hair,

"They're supportin' ye an is what counts."

"They are, though I think I got through to them that it's not like how it would happen back home. How much more complicated it is like this." Her gaze seemed distant as she spoke, contemplating.

"I mean, how gradual it was for one. Not even realizing it until it was too late. Evil's not that subtle back home. It's in your face, and obvious."

"Oh aye, just made it 'arder cause it played on ye like a bloody instrument."

His next hug is rather harder, he came so close to losing her and he doesn't want a life without her.

Kate shook her head, "No, not like an instrument. That's an insult to them and musicians to compare it to that."

She sighed, "It was mental and spiritual torture. Brainwashing... everything I either knew about, or was warned about, and it happened anyway."

He strokes her back and kisses her once more,

"Forgive me, ye're right, isna fair to players. Was a demon who preyed upon ye but ye're free now an will 'eal."

"Demon and a spell," She corrected quietly.

"Yes, free." Even if at times she almost felt the absence like the phantom pain of a missing limb. Or like a piece of her was torn out along with the demon.

He traces her face to move her to lok at him again,

"Kate, I love ye. Ye were na made less by that demon. Ye were stronger than it."

She finally did look back at him, her blue eyes worried. "You don't know that. I'm not even sure. Not yet."

"Nay, Kate, dinna give it that power to take ye down. 'member what ye told me 'bout those who chained an whipped me, canna let 'em decide me strength. Canna give it that power to say who ye are."

Kate slowly started to smile again, "You're right. In that you're right that I'm right. ...Right? I remember now. Guess I still have something to fight after all. Least this should be easier to knock out."

He's missed her smiles so much,

"Aye, knew I was an ye are strong, far stronger than ye know at times. Now tis my turn to spoil ye, would ye like a bath or shall I just make ye into a 'appy puddle?"

She yawned and remarked, "Strong, but thinking sleep's stronger right now. And don't want to doze off in the tub. You can pamper me here if you want to."

"Mmm, must decide the best way then. Get yerself ready for bed while I think on it an must wear that wee bit cloth 'gain, ne'er seen ye respond so."

"Well you look good in it." She stretched, and then got up to change into some light pajamas. A nice satin nightgown tonight, and she headed into the bathroom, shutting the door behind her. Sounds of flushing, water running, then brushing teeth were all heard inside.

A few minutes later, she came back out to flop down on the bed again.

He looks down at her with a smile since in the meantime he's pulled on his hose and tucked the speedo away,

"Makes me feel rather naked but glad ye like it."

Then he lays down beside her and starts feathering his hands and fingers down her body.

"That's half the point of wearing something so small actually. Least to some people."

She was about to say more, but it came out as an "Oooh Will." instead.

He'd respond but he's currently kissing down her neck as his hand wanders around her body ever so gently.

She relaxed back against the bed, and she bared her neck more to his mouth. Her body arched against his hand as she moaned.
