"I would not wish to feel right at home on the waves; I am at home already, on dry land," Teja says to the pirate captain that he has heard of so much, but is meeting for the first time in this world foreign to both of them.
He looks around, at all the men assembled. He is wearing his armour, axe over his shoulder, but his cloak, today, is black.
The road is quiet, only the wind through the trees as a heavy cart with two men at the front passes through.
Beside the driver sits a guard with a mean looking crossbow and at the rear, two men walk carrying pikes and swords.
Its slow moving because the roads are still muddy from all the rain that's fallen, a chest rests in the back but its been covered with straw and a dirty blanket yet its shape is clear.
It hadn't taken too long to scale the tree, which had more branches than your average ship's mast, nor to set up the line.
That hasn't stopped Jack from muttering about it yet, though.
"... still wish I had me pistol..." A sound from the road alerts him, and he freezes on the branch. Upon spotting the cart, a gleam of gold flashes from a tooth as he grins-- and leaps.
"aaaaAAAAAaaAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
Jack crashes down through the tree branches, swinging forward and up into the air. He lets go of the rope at the end of its reach and drops out of the air with one foot on the back of each of the cart horses. Swaying back and forth, windmilling one arm in the air for balance, Jack Sparrow nevertheless manages to draw his sword and point it at the driver.
"STAND TO, YOU SCURVY KNAVE! This ship's -- er, cart's -- under the command of Captain Jack Sparrow!"
Teja approaches quietly as well, axe poised. He nods to Atton -- he himself will strike his first blow, and then be seen by all present, but Atton, if he would not yet visit fiery mayhem upon the men defending the cart, might prefer to fight in silence, killing unseen?
The pikesmen are diverted by the large man with an axe coming towards them and one of them charges at Teja.
Sadly the other one is just aware of Atton almost too late and in his panic, his pike is swinging around wildly, four feet of solid wood that moves towards Atton's stomach.
Sadly for him the driver has given up on the horses and drawn his sword which he's got at Jack's throat.
The crossbowmen is trying his best to fight off Jack but so far all he's got for his troubles is a broken nose. In desperation he punches upwards with the crossbow at Jack.
Jack ducks down and to the side, helpfully clearing the way for the crossbow to smash into the driver's sword. In their moment of distraction, he scrambles up onto the back of the cart and aims a kick at the driver's head.
Ben is digging in the underbrush for a nice big stick when he hears Jack's cry of adventure. He immediately runs back to the road side in time to jump back before being run over by the wagon's front wheels.
"Oh jeeze," he thinks as the cart disappears around a stand of trees. He quickly takes in the scene and takes off running after the cart. He doesn't get too far before he reaches down and pulls up the hem of his robes so that he can run faster.
He is resolutely not thinking about how this must look. "Jen's not here, Johnny's not here," he thinks to himself over and over as he runs.
"Of course, there's gotta be at least one witness," Ben thinks before saying out loud, "So this wasn't part o' the plan? How the hell do monk's run in these things?"
Teja grips one of the guards, pulling him out of the mud; in his other hand, his axe is dangling casually.
Teja's face is streaked with one light spray of blood -- horse blood, from when he put the poor creature out of its misery. But the guard would not know that.
"Please allow me to help yer Majesty," Ben says when he gets to the cart and recognizes the Goth. He reaches under the bed of the cart to try and reach an axel and then lifts.
Ben seems to have the cart covered, so Atton wanders over to the second guard, casually hoisting him up and, then, further up, several feet into the air.
"Should I just keep him here in case we need him for something?"

He leans close as if to confide a secret, swaying back and forth a little as he adds,
"And the trick to it's to move with the waves -- soon you'll feel right at home."

Both horses are dancing about, trying to get this thing off of them as the driver draws his sword and the pikemen charge.

His sword clashes hard against the guard's crossbow, while his wildly flailing fist strikes the driver hard across the nose.
"Not good!"
