Daiki Arriving

Nottingham is busy today as everyone is selling what they can.

The market square is full of farmers who wish they had more and everywhere the Sheriff's men watch and take what they want.

There are few places that are truly quiet but in an alley not far from the market, there is a bit of silence.

A grey wall slides up in the alley to admit Daiki, who brushes himself down. He has about two seconds to stand around before the Diend emblem materialises above him and floats down over him, changing his attire.

He starts out in a blue t-shirt; a thin, open black hoodie; and jeans. He ends up in a leather jerkin, black hose, and a blue shirt. That'll do.

Beaming, he heads out into the market place.

When he walks into the market place, a number of heads turn, because while he may be dressed in the clothes of the era, he doesn't look like anyone else.

A boy tugs on his mother's sleeve, "Mum, what is 'e?"

Daiki had been vaguely prepared for this. The DienDriver translates languages well enough, but it can't mask the fact that he is clearly the odd one out here.

That's fine, though. He looks around until he sees the rough direction of the forest, and starts ambling that way.

A lot of eyes follow him and two guards block his way,

"Where do ye think ye're goin', foreigner?"

"The forest," Daiki says, easily enough. Politely: "Anything wrong with that?"

"Naught in that forest but outlaws. Ye goin' to take 'em on?"

That makes the guard not talking laugh,

"'im, wouldna last long. 'rhaps we should just let 'em kill 'em."

"Sheriff willna like na knowin' 'bout 'im."

Daiki beams brightly, reaching over to pat one of the guards on the shoulder. Then, suddenly, his leg swings up towards the guard's gut.

The guard wasn't expecting that and goes down as his partner tries to grab Daiki,

"'ell ye doin'!"

Everyone in the marketplace turns towards the noise of the fight.

Daiki casually lets the guard grab him, but headbutts at his face, hard.

Now that guard goes down, a small section of the crowd is not saying anything aloud but its clear they're on his side.

Though the sound of metal clanking together can be heard as more guards come towards Daiki. The crowd doesn't make it easy for them to pass through.

The DienDriver is suddenly in Daiki's hand, and he's loading cards into it. With a small grin, he points it at the approaching guards and shoots.

"Kamen Ride," the gun intones slowly, "Ohja (http://i47.tinypic.com/348kl51.jpg). Saga (http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/3994/krsagablogus9.jpg)."

There's a brief light show. Then, two armoured figures appear, one with a sword and one with a strangely accurate whip, and start heading towards the guards.

A lot of the crowd screams and starts running away from the figures as the guards come forward unsheathing their swords and pushing their pikes forward,

"'alt!"

The dolls pay no attention. Saga strikes first, whip lashing out against the guards, while Ohja strides towards them with a sword in one hand and a sceptre in the other.

Daiki, for his part, just beams, waves, and starts to walk away towards the forest.

"After 'im!"

Four guards gather around the dolls while another four rush towards Daiki to stop him. The market place is now full of chaos as some people are running away and the guards try to capture Daiki.

Daiki turns when the guards get close, trying to get a kick squarely in the stomach of one of them, and attempting to whack another round the face with the DienDriver.

"Grab that thing!"

One of the guards yells so one man reaches up to try and grab Daiki's arm. The kick takes out one guard, but one of the guards from the gate is coming up behind Daiki.

Daiki elbows the guard trying to grab his arm in the face, but doesn't see the one coming up behind him.

The one behind him reaches for his other arm and tries to twist it as the remaining two guards move forward, one presses his pike towards Daiki's stomach,

"Told ye to 'alt! Get that thing from 'im!"

As the guard who was elbowed reels off to the side another one reaches towards the gun as the dolls take down the other four guards.

The dolls turn on the four guards attacking Daiki and start running towards them, but with a pike to his stomach, there's not much Daiki can do except watch as they take the DienDriver from him.

The dolls blur and vanish immediately afterwards.

"Tie 'im up. Sheriff will want to know 'bout 'im."

A guard from behind, grabs Daiki's hands and wraps a piece of rope around them while another carefully handles the DienDriver.

Daiki silently lets them, glowering at whichever guards happen to cross his line of sight.

The guard menacing him with the pike slaps his stomach with the flat of its blade,

"Stop that! Sheriff will know what to do with ye, witch!"

As they head back towards the castle, the crowd peers out from behind stalls to watch him go.

Daiki is winded by the slap, but doesn't stop glaring. He goes along with them, though, silently fuming.

It doesn't take too long to reach the castle and Daiki is dragged up to the main room where the Sheriff gives the guards a look, "Who have ye brought me?"

The guards all bow and one of them offers the DienDriver to the Sheriff, "Found 'im in the marketplace, called strange warriors with this."

Carefully the Sheriff turns the DienDriver over in his hands and eyes Daiki, "What do ye have to say for yerself, witch?"

Daiki considers this question for a long time.

Eventually: "I should've summoned three instead of two?"

"How many warriors can ye summon from this, answer me?"

One of the men slaps Daiki on the back of the head as a prompt while the Sheriff aims the DienDriver at a hapless guard.

"Why would I do that? You can't use it." Daiki says, resisting the urge to try to headbutt the man that slapped him. It wouldn't help.

The Sheriff pulls what seems like the trigger and nothing happens,

"Ye'll tell me how to use it or burn on the morrow!"

"You pull the trigger, just like you did. It's just that you can't use it."

"I'll make ye use it for me."

The guard behind Daiki hits him on the head again as the Sheriff nods in approval.

"If you keep hitting me, I won't have enough brain cells left to use it."

"I could do far worse than hit ye, witch. So tell me!"

The Sheriff stands up to loom over Daiki.

You know, Daiki could take advantage of this witch thing.

"Hang on. Let me commune with Satan for a moment." He peers down at the floor intently, nodding a few times and making agreeable noises. "Okay, he says you're going to burn in the deepest levels of Hell."

That's not technically taking advantage, but Daiki really wants to see the Sheriff's reaction.

The Sheriff hits him across the face,

"Ye'll be there first, witch. Chain him and put him in the dungeons. He'll burn at first light."

Daiki grimaces at the blow.

"Difference is, I'll come back and haunt you," He chirps after a moment.

The Sheriff doesn't even respond as the guards drag Daiki away where they clap him in iron manacles and chain him to a wall.

Iron manacles hurt.

This makes Daiki sad.

It'll be a while before he can world-hop again, though, and he won't leave without the DienDriver anyway.
