Nottingham is full of strangers with the Fair and so one more won't cause any excitement.

The fights haven't started yet but they will soon and there's something to see every where.

At the headbutt the man just curses and falls and the man announcing comes to take Shay's hand,

"Ye've won. Clear 'im 'way an ye'll 'ave yer next 'bout soon."

"Thanks," Shay grins, helping to clear the man away and then heading down. There's a bruise rapidly forming on his side, but apart from that, he's okay.

A couple more round of bouts go by before Shay's called up again to fight a man who's not quite as tall as he is but solidly built,

"Won't be pullin' any tricks on me, boy."

"An' what's your name?"

"Sam."

Then he starts with a couple of powerful punches towards Shay's face.

Shay blocks, but the force of the blows leaves him unsteady on his feet.

So Sam just keeps coming, the blows don't involve a lot of finesse just strength.

Shay doesn't regain his composure in time to block, and a string of several blows leaves him sprawled flat on the ground, moving to get up, but wincing.

"Ye yield?"

Sam looks down at him with a smirk.

Shay grumbles, getting to his feet.

Matt sneers at him from his place by the sidelines.

Shay throws a grin at him, before punching at Sam's face.

Sam blinks and doesn't fall over but wobbles before trying to punch Shay.

Shay ducks, throwing most of his body weight into a slam at his gut, with one elbow jutting out.

Now Sam goes over at the slam with an oof and almost falls off the small platform that the fighting's happening on.

Shay waits to see if Sam will get up.

No, he's down and not moving. The announcer prods him with his foot,

"Guess ye win."

Shay grins and helps him off, before heading over to Matt.

"So, how're you holding up, shorty?"

The announcer looks between the two of them, "Ye two are next."

The crowd cheers, they know a good match up when they see.

Matt postures, "Ready to take ye down, boy."

"It'll be fun seeing you try. What, are you trying to impress somebody or something?"

Shay's shaking on the inside. The last time he was watching, Matt took his opponent down in seconds, and he doesn't think that his previous improvised strategies are going to work with Matt.

Matt walks up onto the platform, trying to push Shay back with his muscles,

"Dinna need, know 'ow good I am."

Shay stumbles back a little, before stepping up on the platform.

"Sounds like you're compensating for something," he grins, looking down meaningfully at Matt's groin. Because he'd imagine that insult goes over especially effectively in medieval times.

The answer to that is Matt tries to punch him, its aiming for around Shay's kidneys.

It hits some bruising from Shay's first fight, and works especially well. Shay makes a loud, pained noise, doubling over. His eyes are watering, he's breathing heavily, and his knees are wobbling like they don't want to stay up.

Matt smiles and comes forward to punch him in the gut.
