Finding Fights with Atton

There's a sharp chill in the air as they step through the door. Will pulls his cloak around him and moves out of the way for Atton,

"'ere we are. Could do with 'ittin' someone."

"I might abandon you when we get to London."

"Why? Na goin' to get in yer way but 'avena been able to 'urt anyone since findin' out 'bout Doc."

"I'll come with you to wherever you want to go first. But then I'm going off on my own. You get concerned and helpful."

"Aye, fine."

He's had Kate worrying over him for days and just gives Atton a look, he just wants to hit something.

Atton sets an arm around him, lifting him slightly, and then speeds off to London. It takes a while, but eventually they arrive in a small alleyway.

The alley is right next to a tavern where loud and raucous sounds come from, apparently its a good night,

"Get some drinks an 'rhaps start a fight."

Atton grunts approvingly.

"You lead."

Will nods and walks inside, pushing past one drunk that's already on the floor.

In one corner, men are throwing bones and somewhere in the mix, a minstrel is trying to sing.

The innkeeper just gives them a nod as Will puts a few pennies on the bar top,

"Two ales an who's the lad caterwaulin' in the corner? Sounds as if someone's killin' a cat."

Atton surveys the room. The men throwing bones look likely - they're fit and athletic enough, with the confidence of guards.

Sublety is all well and good, but Atton can't be bothered with it, so when the ale is delivered, he picks his up, wanders over to the men, and throws it over the largest one.

Will just laughs and the innkeeper ducks under the Bar as the largest bone player turns around and tries to punch Atton.

In a few steps, Will is beside Atton and one of the men backs away from the rage in his eyes, but then he throws a punch. Soon punches, chairs, mugs and whatever anyone can reach is in the air and blood starts to fill the tavern.

The confusion of the situation makes it easy for Atton. He ducks and weaves under chairs and arms and takes people down, one by one.

Since Atton's taking good care of one section of the tavern, Will's going the other way, not quite at his back but near enough.

He's getting slightly bloodied but really doesn't care and the crowd who are still vertical are moving towards the door.

Back to back is good. Easier to fend people off that way.

Most of the men are drunk and slowed, so Atton doesn't have much trouble with them.

Neither does Will but there are a few who are a touch more sober who does their best.

Someone even manages a solid hit to Will's gut that doubles him over, he's not as healthy as he'd like to be.

One of the bones' players has tucked one of the bones into his hand and tries to slash Atton's face with it.

Atton leans out of the way, but he gets a long, wide cut diagonal across one side of his forehead, crossing over his eyebrow.

Then he takes the bones' player down with a punch, and turns to knock the one that Will was dealing with down.

Will was able to get a good kick in the shins of the one who hit him but its not enough to take them down.

Atton gives them a quick few punches to the face. That, he imagines, should do it.

It does, Will looks around and grins at Atton, its a tired but happy grin,

"Think we won."

"We should go," Atton says, mildly. "No sense sticking around."

"Nay, sure they'll all be yellin' when they get up."

He walks to the counter to finish his ale and then heads out the door.

That was perhaps more of a fight than his body was ready for, but Will's smiling as he limps a bit.

"Hm. You alright for me t'leave you?"

"Oh aye, let me find a place to rest where the guards willna find me."

Not too far from the tavern is the city wall and Will finds a hole made from some not properly shored bricks to rest in,

"Will be 'ere when ye get back."

"I will," Atton says, and then heads off.

It's not too far to where Much and his friends usually fight, so he heads there and hangs around at the edges, watching.

Its a fairly quiet night since everyone's getting ready for the Winter but Much spots Atton,

"Ye come back for more trouble?"

"That's the idea," Atton responds, a little wearily. "You up for it? How many fights have you had today?"
