Autumn has come to Sherwood and there's a bite to the air as the leaves change colors. Will pulls up his hood as he leaves Atton out onto the road,

"Lincoln, aye?"

With a crowing sort of laugh and grunt, Much moves to push Atton to the ground and kick him in the groin.

Atton's landing is softer this time, and he isn't injured in the process.

Except then Much's foot hits his groin, and Atton bites back a noise, wincing and curling slightly.

Much laughs again and kicks Atton once more, this time in the side where he thinks there might be a hurt rib.

Atton lets out a partly stifled cry, turning onto his side.

"Best be givin' up."

Atton groans, turning again, onto his front, and bracing his arms against the ground, before starting to rise to his feet.

"Will just knock ye down 'gain."

"Oh, you're such a pessimist," Atton says, getting to his feet. "How fast are you?"

Much just looks smug and moves to punch Atton in the face.

"I didn't ask for a practical demonstration," Atton says, leaning back out of the way.

"Should just be quiet an give up."

The crowd that's steadily gathered around them laughs.

Atton backs off a little, beckoning.

He's fairly sure he can't win, but he may as well give it a shot.

"Why, not confident y'can actually beat me?"

"Ye're all but beaten."

Much swaggers as he moves towards Atton.

"Y'do raise a good point," Atton says, mildly, raising his fists.

So Much's grin grows as he starts moving in with fast punches to Atton's face and torso. The crowd starts cheering, they know an endgame when they see it.

Atton blocks, taking a few steps back, but Much is strong, and his arms start to go numb.

The crowd keeps cheering as Much moves to grab and throw Atton to the ground for the last time.

Atton hits the ground hard, with a few unpleasant cracking noises.

He does try to get up, but he's about halfway onto his feet when his legs give way beneath him.

"Ye yield yet?"

Much stands over him with a sneer.

Pause.

"Yeah, seems like a good idea."

Much nods and offers him a hand,

"Were a good challenge but ye're na good 'nough."

That stings, but the assassin's part of his mind reminds him, chidingly, of the importance of knowing your limits.

It also espouses cheating when outmatched, and quietly suggests subtly knifing Much.

Atton does not do this.

"I'll be back sometime for a rematch, maybe, if I can be bothered. S'a long way t'come. But this was fun."

"Oh aye, if ye wish. Where were ye from 'gain?"

If he says Nottingham, Much may end up going there and expecting to find him.

Atton thinks of other locations that he knows exist on Earth.

"Gotham." Beat. "It's in Scotland."

"Aye, well best be gettin' back 'fore ye fall apart."

Then Much turns and goes into the tavern, already the crowd is moving around him to buy him drinks.
