More Adventures with Atton

On the edge of Lincoln, a field has been lined with torches and music is filling the summer air.

Will grins at Atton, "Thought there'd be some music."

"Aye, could 'ead back to Sherwood. Glad ye 'njoyed the fightin'."

"Yeah, it was fun. Your world's good for fighting - Guppy's isn't, because it's against the law, and Guppy doesn't like me breaking laws."

"Oh aye, 'e's good 'bout followin' rules."

"Following rules is never good."

"Gets borin' quickly."

"S'true, that."

Will nods and then there's a bit of noise neare the center of the Fair,

"Should find out what's goin' on."

"Should, should," Atton says, heading towards the centre of the Fair.

Its one of the guards from Nottingham and he's yelling aloud the Sheriff's offer except with the change of just making it a bounty. Will curses and pulls up his hood,

"Goin' to make it trickier to leave."

"If we set off now," Atton says, "we might be able t'leave before anybody starts looking."

"Aye an move round the edges."

Atton nods, and starts heading towards the nearest way out of the city and towards Sherwood, staying at the fringes of the crowd as he does so.

Suddenly the crowd is looking around, a few of the fighters are searching a bit more for Atton.

Atton keeps an eye on them while pretending he doesn't notice. He'll blend in more, after all, if he seems relaxed.

Will's keeping his eye on the guards and doing his best to stay just on the edges of the crowd.

Alf though has spotted Atton and is making his way over.

Atton stops moving, turning to watch Alf.

As Alf approaches, Will moves into the shadow of a torch,

"So ye ne'er did say where ye were from, Doran."

"Well, there wasn't much time, I was busy pummeling you until y'couldn't stand," Atton chirps. "Way up North."

"Aye an what's brought ye to Lincoln? 'untin' outlaws?"

Atton almost bursts out laughing, but he manages to keep a straight face.

"A little bit of that. A little bit of just looking for a fight."

"Some o'us are thinkin' 'bout lookin' for outlaws tomorrow, ye should join us. Could use a fighter like ye."

"I'm actually leaving today. How many of you are in this little group of yours?"

"Got 'bout six o'us all together. Where ye 'eaded to?"

"London," Atton lies, easily.

"Always lots goin' on there, sure ye dinna wish to come with us. Could get some coin to spend."
