More Adventures with Atton

On the edge of Lincoln, a field has been lined with torches and music is filling the summer air.

Will grins at Atton, "Thought there'd be some music."

Atton keeps an eye on them while pretending he doesn't notice. He'll blend in more, after all, if he seems relaxed.

Will's keeping his eye on the guards and doing his best to stay just on the edges of the crowd.

Alf though has spotted Atton and is making his way over.

Atton stops moving, turning to watch Alf.

As Alf approaches, Will moves into the shadow of a torch,

"So ye ne'er did say where ye were from, Doran."

"Well, there wasn't much time, I was busy pummeling you until y'couldn't stand," Atton chirps. "Way up North."

"Aye an what's brought ye to Lincoln? 'untin' outlaws?"

Atton almost bursts out laughing, but he manages to keep a straight face.

"A little bit of that. A little bit of just looking for a fight."

"Some o'us are thinkin' 'bout lookin' for outlaws tomorrow, ye should join us. Could use a fighter like ye."

"I'm actually leaving today. How many of you are in this little group of yours?"

"Got 'bout six o'us all together. Where ye 'eaded to?"

"London," Atton lies, easily.

[will_scarlett]

"Always lots goin' on there, sure ye dinna wish to come with us. Could get some coin to spend."

"I'm sure. I've got plenty of coin already," Atton says, starting to head away.

"Ye're na thinkin' o'joinin' 'em are ye?"

Atton scoffs.

"Join a group of penniless outlaws? Don't be ridiculous," he calls, without turning around.

Alf grins at him, "Good, since then ye'd probably 'ang. Good luck in London."

Then they move off into the crowd and Will moves forward with a curse,

"'ave to get back 'fore 'em."

"I can speed us there, if y'like."

"Let's wait till we pass the crowd then aye."

"Okay," Atton says, continuing moving past the crowd.

Will keeps staying on the edges, keeping an eye on all the guards and others, Sherwood's not too far away.

"Not far now," Atton murmurs.

[will_scarlett]

"Oh aye."

Since they're not inside the city walls, they don't have to pass gates but there are still guards keeping an eye on who leaves.

Atton doesn't make eye contact with the guards. He acts as if he's barely noticed them.

While Will just moves forward even leaning on Atton a bit so he seems a little drunk.

They're both watched but no one comments on them though someone does pull down Will's hood and laugh.

Will tenses but keeps up the look of being drunk and they're waved on.

Once they're out of sight of the guards, Atton grabs Will, and speeds off.
