Sherwood Plot-First Team
The door opens onto Sherwood where the men are gathered. Little John sees this group and gives a nod,
"Ye're with me, let's get movin'."
"Ye're with me, let's get movin'."
Re: The Cart
"Should I just keep him here in case we need him for something?"
Re: The Cart
The call comes from a broad branch up in the nearest tree, where Jack Sparrow is lounging against the trunk and keeping an eye on the proceedings.
"Thought you lot would never show up."
Re: The Cart
"Just let 'em go, they've made such fools o'themselves, naught too much else we can do to 'em. Where's the chest then?"
Re: The Cart
"Under that there piece of bloody heavy wood." Gold flashes from a tooth as he grins unrepentantly.
"Had to keep them from making off with it, now didn't I?"
Re: The Cart
Re: The Cart
"We might wish to speak to him," he points out, gesturing at the mud with the butt of his axe, "if that chest does not contain any tax; he might have an idea where the true bounty went."
Re: The Cart
"Go flee now. If you're still around by the time I've drawn my knife I'll kill you." Atton gives him a shove.
Re: The Cart
"Aye, chase 'em 'way, they'll na bother us."
Once Ben lifts the cart, its hard to miss the mud puddle and the chest slowly sinking with lots of interesting sounds.
The guard Atton was holding runs terrified down the road, only tripping a little in the mud, the other one is mesmerized by Teja's axe.
Re: The Cart
"Now that's interesting."
He shrugs and jumps down from the tree branch, then promptly strolls over to the edge of the puddle, cocks his head to one side, and eyes the chest.
Re: The Cart
"S'all muddy," wrinkling his nose slightly.
Re: The Cart
He then takes a look about the clearing for any signs of knights or footmen before turning to look at the chest. "You gonna get that or shall I?"
Re: The Cart
Re: The Cart
John rumbles and gives a glare to the last guard who flees after his friend.
Re: The Cart
Jack seems privately amused for some reason, even as he shrugs.
"Crack it open, mate. Having a plan's much more better than having a key, but having the treasure's better still."
Re: The Cart
Re: The Cart
Re: The Cart
He suspects there isn't anything in the chest, but it's worth a look.
After a moment, he levitates one of the pouches up into his hand, opening it and peering inside. There may be a slight gleam in his eyes when he sees the gold.
"We've hit the jackpot." If he wasn't morally bound to give the money to the Merry Men to distribute amongst the poor, he'd be stuffing it in his pockets by now.
Stupid morals.
Re: The Cart
"Good, let's be gettin' 'em out then."
Re: The Cart
"Good - we need not recapture them now."
He picks up some pouches, also, and looks around at the other men -- Ben Grimm, one would assume, could carry them all.
Re: The Cart
The bright gleam in Jack's black eyes might be chalked up to pride at their success, but anyone knowing the pirate well could safely bet that there's something else involved, as well.
"Allow me."
Helpfully, Jack gathers up several pouches, balancing them in a bundle in his arms.
One makes its way up a sleeve; another just happens to fall from his fingers and into a pocket.
Re: The Cart
"I can carry all of it if ya guys want."
Re: The Cart
To Ben: "If you insist." He tosses his pouch Ben's way.
Re: The Cart
Re: The Cart
"Can just 'ead back to meet with the others then."
Re: The Cart
"Lead the way, mate."
