Sherwood Plot-First Team
The door opens onto Sherwood where the men are gathered. Little John sees this group and gives a nod,
"Ye're with me, let's get movin'."
"Ye're with me, let's get movin'."
Re: Ambush
He turns one hand palm-up. Above, the sky grows dark, suddenly thickening with black clouds, flashing with frequent - almost too frequent - lightning, though no bolts hit the ground. A moment later, the rain starts.
Atton doesn't say anything, but the look he gives the horseman makes it clear that he created the storm.
Sometimes, Atton likes scaring people with displays of power. Even if he does hope, a little, that they don't run away.
Re: Ambush
He wasn't to kill too many, after all; and he had killed one already. Too many dead would make trouble for Will and his people.
Re: Ambush
Behind them the pikesman is getting up his courage and slashes towards Atton's back.
Re: Ambush
Re: Ambush
No holding back. He had his chance, and didn't take it. Now he must die.
Re: Ambush
Luck is not on the pikesmen's side today as he screams in Atton's face and gets hit.
He wobbles backwards and steps in a mud puddle.
Re: Ambush
Re: Ambush
He takes some more steps back, away from the blood and the stench and the screaming, collapsing horse, awaiting the rider's reaction.
Re: Ambush
Today is not a good day for the pikesmen who is just barely standing up and feels like he's forgotten how to fight.
Re: Ambush
He takes a few steps away, raising an eyebrow. "See?"
Re: Ambush
Atton, he notices but briefly, would be fine -- so fine, he advises his enemies before he kills them. A good sign.
Re: Ambush
The horsemen just barely blocks Teja's axe but not before he takes a dangerous would on his should, leaving his left arm painfully limp.
Re: Ambush
"That's more like it. Now, I'm going t'try t'rush in and punch you a few times, on the count of three, okay?" He counts down to three, before ducking down and rushing forward, throwing a punch at the pikesman's gut.
Re: Ambush
Re: Ambush
He yells and keeps trying to fight.
Still bewildered the pikesman tries to slam Atton in the face with his pike as he eeps.
Re: Ambush
"That was good. You're making progress," he tosses his knife up into the air, using his now free hand to try to snatch the pike and, drawing on the Force to increase his strength, snap it in two.
Re: Ambush
He swings his axe again and sinks it deep into the man's shoulder, half hewing off the head, half cleaving the chest open.
He must step on the corpse to jerk his axe free; and as it comes loose, the man's last lifeblood spurts over Teja's shoes, and the hem of his cloak.
"Any others?" he says. "Will you yet tame that one, Atton? You are teaching him well."
Re: Ambush
"I.i.i yield!!"
Re: Ambush
Teja gets a brief look up and down. "Messy kill?"
Re: Ambush
He looks around. The horseman is dead, and the horse is breathing its last with painful, rattling breaths. Three steps take him over there; he draws his utility knife, bends down, and slits the horse's jugular.
You do not let horses suffer -- not any men, yours or those of the enemy, but those are all accounted for.
Teja straightens up. "Now, let us see where the pirate took the cart, and if the cart does contain gold; and if not, if any men are left alive on that cart that might know where the gold is."
That they would speak, Teja does not doubt for a moment.
"Or we might recapture your pikeman for that."
Re: Ambush
Re: Ambush
"If we need him to find something, I'll catch him again." Atton shrugs. "But he's just a scared soldier. He'd probably gibber too much for us to hear what he was saying."
