The next day it rains and rain so it becomes a day for chores in Sherwood. Tuck is working on the stew and doing some mending.

John, Allan and Robin are fletching arrows as Will hones their blades.

"I doubt it's very high on their list. No offense meant. They tend to go for worlds of a certain type - lots of monsters, at least a few Riders."

"We've na that many monsters that arena 'uman. Ye a Rider?"

Daiki nods.

He's not sure if he technically counts now that the DienDriver is gone. But he's heard some of the more sentimental Riders moralising about how it's just something you are, regardless of whether you're currently able to transform.

"Have you ever heard of the Hand of Herne?"

"Aye, one o'Sherwood's secrets. 'ow do ye know o'it?"

Tuck's gaze is a little sharper on Daiki.

"Database," Daiki says, innocently.

"Strange that it should be in there. Isna spoken o'."

"Really? I'm sure I heard the Sheriff mention it too, when I was in the castle. Are you sure it's as well-kept a secret as you think?"

"Canna think why 'e'd mention it. The Church doesna like to 'ear o'the old things."

Dry: "The Sheriff didn't strike me as overly pious."

"'e wishes to keep in the Church's good graces."

"That just means that he shouldn't talk about these things when they're around to hear him."

"Didna think 'e was that stupid."

Tuck spots the plants he was looking for and hands Daiki a basket,

"Cut those for me."

Daiki gets to work cutting said plants.

"Thing is, wouldn't he want it?"

"Na sure what 'e'd do with it. Tis a thing o'belief."

"How do you mean?"

"The 'and's connected to Sherwood, isna somethin' that would be worth much to those na from 'ere."

"Does he know that?"

"Think if 'e'd wished to get it, could 'ave looked many a time while 'e's in Sherwood searchin' for us."

"If he knew about it then."

"Aye an canna think 'ow 'e would 'ave learned 'bout it."

Tuck gives Daiki another sharp glance as he cuts some more herbs.

"Are you trying to accuse me of telling the Sheriff, a man who was going to burn me for witchcraft, about a stone in Sherwood?" Daiki asks, slightly amused.

"Nay, I just dinna understand why ye've connected 'im an it."

"I said. I heard it mentioned in the castle."

"Then tis somethin' we should look into."

"I know. That's kind of what I was saying."
